Cusianagas informs its users and the community in general, that fraudulent activities related to illegal connections, intervention in natural gas distribution networks and metering centers have been detected in some municipalities of the company's coverage area, which puts the safety and life of the people involved and the community at risk.

It is important to remember that according to Resolution 108 of 1997 of the Energy and Gas Regulation Commission-CREG, a fraudulent connection corresponds to any derivation from the local network, or from another connection of the corresponding service, carried out without authorization from the service provider.

Additionally, according to Resolution CREG 067 of 1995, Fuel Gas Distribution Code by networks, the gas distribution companies, in this case Cusianagas SA ESP, are the only ones with the competence to build, operate and maintain the natural gas distribution system, as well as to refuse constructions that are unsafe, inadequate or inappropriate to receive the service, or that interfere with or impair the continuity or quality of the service to the user or other users.

Likewise, the manipulation of the gas measurement centers is the exclusive responsibility of the supplier, since they are connected to the medium pressure gas line and consequently, cannot be intervened by third parties. Otherwise, the safety and life of the users and the community are put at risk.

We invite the community to report these illegal and unsafe activities, both for users and for the stability of the gas distribution networks, in order to avoid major accidents and in any case, the corresponding criminal actions.
